Guerilla Opera is a culturally focused and artist-led ensemble, whose mission is to commission and re-envision new and experimental works custom-tailored to our unique ensemble of artists.
Led by Artistic Director Aliana de la Guardia, we champion cutting-edge music and immerse audiences in profound experiences, provide a vehicle for creative authenticity, and IDEA (Inclusion. Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility), and inspire, influence and amplify emerging generations of artists and arts-lovers.
If you’re inspired and passionate about our work, and are committed to fostering support for the arts landscape in Boston, we encourage you to contact us to be a member of our Board of Directors.
We are particularly seeking people with energy and enthusiasm, who are excited about teamwork, with experience in nonprofit Board leadership or fundraising and people with ties to the communities of and surrounding Boston as well as other centers of arts and culture in Massachusetts.
Individual board members serve three-year terms and are expected to:
Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in quarterly board meetings;
Know Guerilla Opera’s mission, policies, programs, and needs;
Read and understand the organization’s financial statements;
Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for Guerilla Opera;
Fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission;
Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve Guerilla Opera’s mission;
Give a meaningful personal financial donation;
Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing.
