Guerilla Opera is hosting a watch party on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 7:00PM EDT on Sparrow Live for an encore viewing of the world premiere of Giver of Light.

Guerilla Opera has been approved for a $10,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support the world premiere of Island of Hope, Island of Tears.

Guerilla Opera is now offering an on demand encore viewing of the extraordinary 2017 production of Chrononhotonthologos, available through Sunday, February 14, 2021 7PM EDT via Sparrow Live.

As the world prepares for further quarantining, Guerilla Opera, in anticipation, developed the Guerilla Underground, an on-demand virtual speakeasy where you can explore the ensemble’s latest COVID Experiments, short projects that pack a punch with small casts of your favorite Guerillas and that expand the definition of opera in surprising ways!

Last month Guerilla Opera announced a full season of digital programming, and now in October they will perform live!

Nimble, resourceful, transformative, that’s the Guerillas of Boston in a nutshell. In their 14th season they have expanded their digital programming to give you so much more!

The Coronavirus emergency left the landscape for the arts gloomy, but Guerilla Opera’s thirteenth season had successes which propelled the company into a new era of female leadership and artistry. Guerilla Opera’s composers are equally winning. With seven works in development, many smaller projects, and new digital programming, the company’s fans and supporters have a lot to look forward to in future seasons.

Guerilla Opera cancelled the rest of its thirteen season, supporting the health and safety of its artists amidst the COVID-19 outbreak and restrictions, with the following statement from its Artistic Directors Aliana de la Guardia and Julia Noulin-Mérat.

Guerilla Opera will perform Rumpelstiltskin in a free concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16. Rumpelstiltskin features music and libretto by Marti Epstein and original shadow puppetry animation by Iranian animator and theater artist Deniz Khateri.

Guerilla Opera’s season starts Saturday, March 14, 2020! Experience a showcase of five world premiere one-act operas written by composers from Guerilla Opera’s inaugural Emergence Composer Fellowship in Slosberg Recital Hall at Brandeis University in Waltham. Featured composers and librettists include: Leah Reid, Caroline Louise Miller, Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei (دانیال رضا سبزقبایی) and Mina Salehpour (librettist), Jeremy Rapaport-Stein, and Niko Yamamoto and Athanasia Giannetos (librettist).

Guerilla Opera, known for all things new, intimate, and experiential, gives you more new works, more composers, fabulous All Stars, and more events in their 13th season with performances in Boston and Washington D.C.!

In their twelfth season, Guerilla Opera’s board of directors appoints Aliana de la Guardia and Julia Noulin-Mérat as co-artistic directors. De la Guardia and Noulin-Mérat have been working together to produce the experimental company’s world premiere operas and productions since 2009. Together, now they will serve as the faces of the company.
