2019-2020 SINGER AUDITIONS
We are auditioning singers who identify their voice as countertenor, tenor and baritone for roles in our 2019-2020 Season and for spots on our roster for consideration in future seasons.
We are looking for local singers or singers with local housing only. We do not cover travel expenses.
Part 1, Movement: Thursday, August 15, 2019, 10AM-1PM
Part 2, Music: Friday, August 16, 2019, 5PM-9PM

All singers who are selected for an audition must be available for Parts 1 in its entirety.
SPECIFIC OPERAS TO BE CAST:
A DEAD BODY by Mischa Salkind-Pearl and Franny Zhang
Auditioning countertenors for the concert premiere of a ghostly new opera weaving together eerie stories by Anton Chekhov to be performed on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Club Café, Boston, MA.
EMERGENCE FELLOWSHIP
Auditioning countertenors, tenors, and baritones for roles in five world premiere mini-operas written by composers from our international call for scores. This project was supported in part by an Opera America Innovation Grant. Final semi-staged performance on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Brandeis University, Waltham MA.

MUSICAL EXCERPTS:
When selected for an audition we will send you a link to a 10-11 bar excerpt from our commissioned repertoire. Please prepare the appropriate excerpts as well as possible
MUSICAL SELECTIONS:
When selected for an audition we would like to hear two musical selections: one must be from the standard operatic repertoire, and one must be a contemporary selection. You may bring an option third selection.
One selection must be in English;
Contemporary works can be from the art song repertoire or similar;
You may bring any work that is written specifically for you. In this case please include a PDF copy of the sheet music in your initial email with your résumé and head shot;
You may use your own accompanist; otherwise you will use ours at no cost to you.
Contemporary solo works (I.E. a cappella works) are acceptable.
